Micro in that instead of typing hundreds of words as you do on a regular blog, with micro blogs you can only type 140 characters at a time.
140 characters make it possible to connect micro blogging with cell phone texting. This means that apart from being able to post updates of what you are doing online, you can also potentially update your micro blog straight from your phone, just as if you were texting. The reverse can also be possible, meaning you can also get status updates from direct to your phone. (note: texting is a feature that is not currently available on floopo platform, but we hope to have it available in the near future).

This is why its common to refer to services such as floopo that allow you to create a site similar to these as "a twitter clone" or a "jaiku clone" etc. These companies have spent millions of dollars in developing their platforms but you don't have to. With floopo you get a chance to create your own site and get to spend $0.00, yes absolutely free.
